I know it's a personal thing, but I keep groaning about how they seem to constantly framy Batwoman as nearly equal to Batman. Especially I find the ways they keep doing it just hammy instead of even subtle.

I don't think they're doing that, at least from what I can see. Call me when Kate sits in the Mobius chair and becomes an actual god. Or leads the Justice League or something. Until then, I don't buy it.

And even if she is pretty close to him, is that so bad? She's been depicted as very skilled from her debut and has done a lot of crazy shit to back that up. Too many people act like she's some kind of rookie, and I don't know if it's just ignorance or something else.

If she's even close to him, it kinda takes away from his Kung Fu semi mystical journey to learn...well, everything...doesn't it?

I don't see why. She's just approaching basically the same problem from a different angle. Why would that take away from him?

Besides, she's still not his equal in many ways. She's not a genius or an inventor. She doesn't know as many martial arts has he does. She doesn't have nearly as many resources. From her very first appearance, she's been consistently depicted as different from Batman, not better than him, nor wanting to be better than him. But still very, very good at what she does. This is in line with that.

It doesn't take anything away from Batman to be an equally capable badass in her own way. Batwoman's not going to be fighting martians on the moon, or thwarting evil doppelgangers from another dimension. Batman's got any number of things going on, but I think Kate is grand in the ways she excels.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with her being equal badass, but, you could say that being a badass is a prerequisite for members of the Bat family. I mean, even the butler qualifies

For what it's worth, I don't mind her competence levels here.

She's well within range here, so I don't know why anyone would take issue unless they're just unfamiliar with her (assuming they're acting in good faith).
