I liked it too. It was looking forward with a title, and building outward from the "First Family" theme, but they always keep mashing the "reset" button at Marvel.
Because it's not meaningless cosmic sturm und drang? Because the Fantastic Four like each other, and get along? Because there's not someone going on about how "everything dies" every other issue? Because the villains aren't ludicrously overpowered non-entities who don't even appear until the outright last issue, wherein they're summarily killed off? Because the Fantastic Four don't spend thirty-odd issues watching disaster unfold while going "should we do something? We should do something. Should we do something?" and then never actually doing anything?
Everyone's free to their own opinion but his Avengers was quite well-liked by many people even though it doesn't seem like it was too popular around here.
I was kind of surprised when I bit the bullet and started getting the trades from the library and reading the rest on marvel Unlimited just how much I enjoyed Hickmans Avengers run.
The sheer amount of relentless bitching that followed every time someone
posted something from his run just made m expect something very lackluster
and not all great.
