You know, I can't help but thinking that even with bad robot cops, this crew is rather a lot of power to drop on one problem like that!
Sure, you've got Misty, her role is clear, then Luke's another obvious pick, Black Panther rules a *country* (though hey, he did do Hell's Kitchen for awhile subbing for Matt), and then you've got Storm in case you need to drop a hurricane on the problem, then yet another mutant, Manifold, just in case you need a teleporter (which seems odd to need here- maybe suggestion the team goes on to other stuff? He's Australian so no real Harlem connection, though is a friend of T'challa).
This is a team if you want to wrap up your robot cop problem fast.
Though I am curious how the T'Challa/Storm relationship is nowadays....
Not a lot of people remember that Storm was born in Harlem.
But for most of her time, shes been mostly uninterested in both Harlem and her US family. And when someone remembers she was born in New York, that gets ignored. I wish we'd had a bit of a character arch bridging the two.
I think because it's a bizarre bit of business the logic of which never made sense to anyone.
The point of the "All-New, All-Different X-Men" was that they were from across the world; Germany, Russia, Canada, Ireland (Banshee), Japan (Sunfire) and the only American was actually Native American, making the one from African technically American seemed very odd.
"Christopher Priest wrote what turned out to be a mini-series that I just adored called The Crew,” Coates said. “Black Panther wasn’t in the original Crew, but he was weirdly sort of related because an ancillary character of his series was in the Crew. It was a unique book because the majority of the characters were black. So when I came back to write Black Panther, I read a bunch of Christopher Priest’s stuff, and I wanted to bring it back. I was going to try to do it with the same members that he had. But it became clear that certain characters would not be available for various reasons. So I decided to think about it in a different way and think about something new."

Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
