Hydra Steve has such a great touch for fascist fashion. I like to imagine the hours he spends pondering various models of military uniforms and Supreme Commander capes etc.

I mean European tradition for this type of nastiness is generally, well, nationalistic, so subgroups of different countries hate each other, and tend to only unite if they see a common enemy (real or imaginary).

I think the whole point of Steve Rogers' speech here is that his goals seem to resonate with people (particularly the disenfranchised and dispossessed).

'Exile and embargo' as a response to espionage and hostile attacks on US soil. My god, and this is Steve trying to be threatening. How the fuck is that supposed to work? A foreign agent steals state secrets from you, so your threat is to exile them back to their home nation with all the information they managed to retain???

Ares' entrance in USAvengers was magnificent. Not just for kicking ass, but his contempt for the pilot was beautiful, and a good example of how the God of War has grown since the days he was just a generic villain.

Phobos is still dead. Ares was taken away from him in their eternal rest and he wants to get back there eventually. It was beyond his control; he was resurrected during Contest of Champions (also by Ewing and definitely worth a read).

Well, in this case, Ares coming back from the dead happened off-world and since then he's been relaxing in England. It's fair to be surprised he got better from what Sentry did to him.

It's awesome that Nick Spencer brought back Euroforce from Avengers World. Now I just want to see what the name for the other European hero team in USAvengers (Ares, Captain Britain, Faiza Hussain, Le Peregrine, Guillotine and Outlaw) is going to be. They should be Avengers Europe.

Ah, thanks. I stopped reading solicits about six months ago to prevent spoilers. As a side effect I'm occasionally surprised by new comics and appearances (I had no idea Al Ewing's Rocket title existed until the day it came out).

Also, in a moment of gender equality, a lesbian hero planting a kiss on a damsel she just rescued seems -just- as rapey as a male hero doing the same.

is it different because it's france? they seem to be a bit more sexually liberal... honest question... not saying it's not rapey... because, yeah consent is key... but I also think some cultures are a little less restrictive with sexuality.

I'm French and found it weird. Swordswoman really shouldn't have kissed her because lack of consent is never good. I appreciate that they wanted to show she was bi or lesbian (I know nothing about the character) but this is a very poor way to do it. Maybe have Swordswoman ask for her number instead or something.

or like, maybe kiss her hand and then ask for her number. A Kiss on the hand maybe quite contin-oh wait. I mean a kiss on the hand could be seen as more chivalrous, and then asking for her number would have made it clear.
