Mod Post - July Requests Thread
Jul. 2nd, 2017 11:18 pmHaving missed June completely, I knoew find I'm a day late with this one
The aim of these (ahem) monthly posts is to give community members a chance to request postings; A story they might recall but not know the name of, or a specific arc, or even examples from a particular creator or genre.
We can't, of course, guarantee that any request will be filled, but given the combined geekitude of the community (and we mean that in the nicest possible sense) you might be surprised what can be unearthed.
So away you go!

Date: 2017-07-03 12:24 am (UTC)HAWKMAN #46 had a post-IDENTITY CRISIS flashback scene, where Carter and Ray talk about everything that happened. It's good, but just shows that the two are good friends and trust each other, not WHY they are good friends and trust each other.
(Of course, you could ask "Why did Hal and Ollie become friends?" and answer with "Because Denny O'Neil said so.")

Date: 2017-07-03 12:49 am (UTC)I'm not sure what the exact deal is, but I notice a lot of modern Wonder Woman media -- comics, Injustice, the movie -- have her armed with a sword and shield in addition to her more fantastic iconography (bracelets, lasso of truth).
I'd like to see when she started carrying those, and why. I dig them, but don't remember ever seeing how they came to be a part of her arsenal. I don't remember ever seeing them in older appearances, either, so I don't know if they're an old aspect brought back or a more contemporary creation -- or even if there is anything particularly special about them, or if they're just meant to be stock Amazon equipment.
(And I haven't seen the movie -- yet. I have a pass for two, and we're just trying to fit it into our schedule. Might even be Tuesday!)

Date: 2017-07-03 01:48 am (UTC)The Manhunters stuff was Millennium, that much I figured out.
I would like to see the story where Darkseid trashes Olympus, and the bit where Diana meets with Superman to figure out her feelings (someone pointed me at the right one in an off topic thread, but I'd like to see it here).

Any Justice League references probably would have been to either the early Giffen/DeMatteis run (WW showed up in that even though she didn't really stick around) or the Legends mini that lead into it (Darkseid was in Legends so it was probably that). Justice League: Year One hadn't been written yet so the status of the Pre-Crisis JLA stories were questionable.
The Superman stuff would have been the Byrne reboot.

Also anything from 1995-1999 X-Men related excluding the big arcs like onslaught. Far as I know those years haven't been collected in many editions.
