Date: 2017-07-25 12:45 pm (UTC)For a while (in the 70's at least), since Lt Gordon was the person who investigated the Wayne's murders, he knew of them as prominent Gotham philanthropists, but didn't move in their social circles.
Gordon would occasionally make references to how Bruce's parents would feel about him being a playboy with no serious responsibilities but probably not as a friend of theirs, more wishing Bruce would get more involved in things..
When Gordon became someone who transferred into Gotham in Year One, it was done away with completely.
