Black Widow's fate after Secret Empire

And yet....in Secret War: Omega #1




I am literally praying to God that shes still alive. I know she probably is, in all seriousness, bit i just do not trust Nick Spencer on this. Maybe it will be like the first Avengers film, instead Bucky finds her to recruit.

Now Spencer confirmed her funeral, and in the latest Iceman, Bobby and the original Champions hold a memorial service for her, but I can't help but feel Nat wouldn't die the way that she did. She's an unstoppable force.

Let's see:

She was revived by a combination of Infinity Formula/Super-Soldier Serum?
She was revived by the Hand?
She was revived by a splinter of the Red Room?
Whatever keeps her youthful since WW2 also gave her a healing factor?
The Natasha who died was a super-advanced LMD?
She was brought back as a clone?
The Cosmic Cube did it?
Hank McCoy went back in time to grab a version of her from before she died?
An older version of her came back from the future?
It's a Black Widow from another parallel world?
Someone shot her with a time bullet?

Choose any or all of these options. Because let's face it... Natasha is as dead as Thor, Tony, Steve, Bucky, Clint, Janet, Peter...

Also taking suggestions as to how/when Bruce Banner, James Rhodes, and Rick Jones will come back. :)

It was Yelena Belova all along!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or something random like Elektra being involved. Or her AvsX nemesis Magik.

Bruce will be found in a giant cocoon at the bottom of Jamaica Bay.

It's probably gonna be hella awkward for her reuniting with Steve. I can't remember how they handled Sharon "I was brainwashed into shooting you" Carter and Cap.

(And speaking of ressurection, I will donate an ovary for Betsy and Jean to swap stories upon her return. "I died once, how about you?" "Oh my god you were dead when I was alive!" "Samesies!")

Really....Jean Grey and I suppose Captain America (?) are the Jesus'es of the Marvel Universe

I'm guessing it's either a serum mix like the first option or a healing factor caused by the treatment that made her ageless. As for the Hulk, I'm guessing he's barely being kept alive by his gamma raditation, kinda like a healing factor. It's not as potent as say, Wolverine's but just enough of it's there to keep him alive.

I don't know, in Uncanny Avengers they had the Hulk reanimated by the Hand and Jericho Drumm ushered Banner's soul into the light as part of undoing that, with a dead body to bury afterwards. I think for Hulk they're going to need either divine/cosmic intervention or time travel shenanigans.

His return in SE was after the one in UA and they did not need a divine intervention.

I'm going to go with "The panel in SE #10 was 100% literal and she was revived by Kobik, but chose to let everyone continue to think she was dead for spy/assassin reasons."

Nat will be back in a year or two. I'm more worried about Rick Jones.

Why's that? He was seen with her at the end so his death at least appears to have possibly been averted.

Well, the guy writing Tales of Suspense says that Black Widow isn't coming back in his book, that it's not what his story is about.

And evidently Bucky is the one convinced Nat truly is dead in Tos, while Clint thinks she might be alive.

It irritates me to no end that death in superhero comics has become so frequent and anti-climactic that people aren't even sure if a given character lived or died during an event. And it's not even a mystery - there was just no pacing or pathos about the Black Widow's maybe-death.
