More files being released today on the assassination. Probably no bombshells unless the CIA is dumb enough to let something slip.

The historians I've seen talking about it today suggest that the most we're going to see is evidence of the incredible arse-covering operations that every single even remotely affiliated group undertook to try and deflect blame for the assassination from themselves.

So the fact that LHO was under "aggressive observation" in the months leading up to the shooting but nothing being done to stop him at any point etc...

Yeah, a guy who defected to Russia and easily came back to the USA at the height of the Cold War? He was probably an FBI informant and possibly a member of the CIA'a 'false defector' program in the late '50s/early '60s. That kind of info would have been huge in 1963 right after the murder in Dealey Plaza.

CYA was the order of the day, with destroyed evidence, ignoring key witnesses, and just general covering up. The JFK assassination was the crack in the foundation that destroyed Americans' faith in their Government, followed by Vietnam and Watergate.

The original X-Files never really grabbed me.

A few well told stories like "Flukeman", "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" "Bad Blood" and "Die Hand Die Verletzt" surrounded by a lot of overly convenient monster of the week deals or worse yet, ones like "Syzygy" where planetary alignments mean astrology suddenly works, or "Soft Light" which has the WORST understanding of "Dark Matter" I've ever come across/

The recent revival was even less appealing, you might have had hopes that someone like Mulder would eventually break open the truth and let it be known what was going on, but now he's in advanced middle age, he appears to have achieved pretty much nothing of note, as far as the general population being in on the truth goes.

That being said, the art here is very impressive, the faces in particular.
