'Marriage Vows'
Oct. 27th, 2017 10:26 am
This one comes from The Haunt of Fear #26.
The Old Witch introduces us to Martin Saunders, who is stuck in an unhappy relationship with his wife.

The narration explains how Martin and his wife are cut off from the rest of their friends and family, their house a "cave in the heart of the big city". It asks Martin, why doesn't he just leave her? Martin thinks of killing her, but realizes that is impossible. He thinks back to five years ago, and how he planned on killing her then...

Eva interrupts Martin from his thoughts, and tells him it's time to go to bed. Martin tells her to have pity on him, but Eva responds that they're married, and she never used to have a problem before...

"Eva, we've been over this. It's not a conjugal 'visit' when you're waiting in my cell for me every night... somehow undetected by the guards or other prisoners..."
