If you think about it, the Saw movies are basically just a more monochromatic version of Dick Grayson’s adolescence. Happy Halloween!

Dick casually escaping from death traps needs to happen more often. It's a veteran hero gimmick that's great fun when used well. I think my favorite is still the first Mega Man/Sonic crossover event, where the two man heroes are debating which of their villains had the most say in the design of the evil lair.

"Beam bridges? Exposed superconductors? Death Egg. Deal with it."
"Nuh-uh. Narrow bridges over armor-piercing spikes? Totally a Wily design."

Actually, now that I think about it, I could totally see Nightwing doing a similar line with evil lairs. He'd need a suitable veteran to snark with about it, but it'd be fun.

Dick might be the sort to offer helpful suggestions. "Look, if you're going to shackle someone to a wall, maybe put a mat down for them, flagstones are COLD this time of year"

"You really are new at this, aren't you?"

That, or in a slightly lighter universe, where the Joker is more of the classic wacky criminal as opposed to crazy murderer...

"Nicely restrained there bird-brat?"
"Yeah. You've been practicing your knots I see. I'm gonna have to work on this one. That said, a pit of spikes?"
"Well, I wasn't able to get the shark tank like I hoped, so I had to improvise."
"You were getting me a shark tank? Aw man, you do care."

Which automatically makes me think of one of my favourite scene from Kim Possible where Señor Senior, Senior has recently decided to become a supervillain and introduces Ron and Kim to the lagoon he's having built in his soon to be deathtrap-laden lair, which he admits is still a work in progres;

"The piranha won't be here 'til Monday, but I assure you the Koi have not been fed in days!"

ONLY Ricardo Montalban could deliver a line like that and make it sound remotely threatening... well, maybe David Warner...

And our own fleetsparrow did a take on Dick and deathtraps that don't quite go according to plan
