I am a little lost how some rich dude hunting people with a bow and arrow even breaks top 20 of "horrible, mind blowing, atrocities" committed by humans.

They're using it as justification for the corporate take over.

... And once again it's kind of stunning to see how quickly the quality of a Warren Ellis work drops when other writers think they can play in his sandbox.

Yea, it's like... Ellis stuff is kinda edgy, but that seems to be the only part picked up on.

I think part of the problem is that when he does it, he makes it look easy, so other writers think they can do it too -- and they don't realize yet that you have to be really good to make it look that easy, because it's actually hard.

Ellis realizes that "edgy" is a tool -- in other words, a means to an end, something you use to carve a sculpture.

Other writers -- and I'll abide by the rules and not name names -- just wave it around wildly yelling "LOOKIT MY EDGE IT IS SHARP SEE HOW SHARP IT IS I AM SO EDGY ADMIRE ME"

And aside from the edge factor, there is so much more to his stories. Character, world building, etc..
