The old 'Skrulls fall in love with the culture they adopt' plotline was a wonderful thing to return. And I so felt for Bugface Brown with his comment about preferring his natural face. Honestly, I loved a lot of this issue. We had Toni in full Action Scientist look, Sam demonstrating that the Xavier Institute has a fascinating concept of 'a proper education', and so on.

Although I do note that Skrulls would be the perfect subject for a future story discussing cultural appropriation...

I still prefer Gerry and the Fucking Skrill Pacemakers, but this is pretty good.

Now I want somebody to do a story about a planet full of Skrulls running to school with a slice of toast in their mouth and living in a big house with their childhood friend, an amnesic girl, their hot teacher and their little sister.

Reminds me a little of this

I love the reference early in the issue to how the original Skrull invasion was turned back by monster comics. It’s a soft retcon that just establishes Skrulls don’t “get” fiction, rather than having terrible eyesight.

Why is Red Hulk so thin in that last panel?

That's actually General Maverick, the guy who ran the American Kaiju project. He turned himself into a Red Hulk with an "hour of power" watch, but during Secret Empire he was locked into Red Hulk form by Hydra Cap which messed with health significantly. It dyed his skin red and gave him massive heart damage.

Maverick's not a natural Hulk, he has a gamma implant that allows him to temporarily turn into a Red Hulk

But Hydra hijacked the implant during the takeover, took over his body and used him as a weapon that they never bothered turning off. His body has been wrecked by staying in Hulk form for so long, so his time limit on being Red Hulk has been considerably shortened and even in his human form he's a red skinned old man.
