Achebe... Sounds like HB... A pencil. What creates comics. So, from a comic book character's view, a pencil is God. Hence, the presence of the Devil.

This series is the only time that Priest's fragmented, non-linear style really worked for me since we have the conceit of Ross telling the story. When he does it on Deathstroke or Justice League, it just takes me out of the story.

I've only ever read a few scraps of Priest (mostly from when he was still "Jim Owsley"), but this sounds pretty close to the reason I could never quite love Puckett's Batgirl (especially her debut in NML) like everyone else does.

Fashion mavens aside, I've personally got no beef with cargo shorts. Whoever thought we needed super low cut skinny jeans though, they need some quality time with Jesus in the worst way.

Yikes, that's a reasonable bias. Especially since I kinda have to admit I did wear dude's cargo pants for a while back in the day specifically so I could keep stuff like knives and boxcutters in the pockets. But that was in a stockroom and on a horsefarm, not in my classes!

They missed their chance to make a new series about Everett K. Ross going around in the Devil's Own Pants, fighting crime, a la Spawn or something.

Every time the comic cut to Mephiso, he'd be sitting there brooding on his throne, pantsless...
