I'd kind of be more impressed if he wasn't keen on the likes of the Chateau Lefite Rothschild, but recalls the smaller vineyards which no one else remembers because they are lost to time, but he frequented them. So he'd be "This may be a Chateau Lefite Rothschild 1847, but it's no Maison Thomas 1473, now THAT was a wine."

That's actually very close to how it works out. Savage knows the vintage, but he still thinks it's crap. One Million Months later, he's more appreciative, since nobody else even remembers the concept of wine anymore.

"I recognize the sound of it being poured."

I would give all my life savings for him to turn around, take a delicate sip, and spit out a mouthful of Welsh's grape juice.

For me, the payoff for this moment was later in the same issue, where the future version of Savage mocks his past self for dismissing this vintage as "dreadful".

*Sigh* I loved DC One Million. I think it was the last major comics event that I truly enjoyed, top to bottom, tie-ins and all.
