Margaret Stohl is still writing Captain Marvel.

....Carol will never escape mediocrity at this point. Also, I love how Stohl is described as best-selling author while the artist is fan-favorite. There's a lot to take away from that.

How can they get the event stink off of Carol Danvers and Steve Rogers?

It's not a problem for people who don't read everything. And thats the majority.

No, the big problem with the events is that people who don't read everything wind up not knowing WTF is going on, because the events affect every single title.

I really don't know how people can struggle to know what's happening with just a tie-in. They're not complicated stories. I only read Civil War 2 about a month ago in trade (and it was far better in one complete book), but had no problem following the random tie ins I'd read last year. Secret Empire? Summarised again and again and again. (those were just the two most recent I could think of.)

I don't understand. Stohl is a best selling author. There's nothing incorrect about that part of the statement.

I think the implication that most of Stohl's success is from non-comic fans. I didn't really know anything about her until I read her Black Widow book. Then, I saw the film for Beautiful Creatures and understood the Black Widow book and the problems I had with it much better.

I REALLY don't understand why they didn't go with someone else. Anyone else.

Haven't heard anything about the supposed new Hawkeye Kate or Jessica Jones titles either....

I know, there just hasn't been any word about it. Or Jessica either. And they're already publicizing the Thor/Cap/Hulk/whoever books.

I didn't think it would be THAT Gauntlet, but Dan Slott wrote The Initiative, so...yes. Yes it will be.

-Death of the Inhumans-
Oh, goody. Combing pointless amounts of death with the Inhumans.
Two bland tastes that taste awful together.

Re: Infinity Wars
... I don't even mind the blatant, shameless attempt at cashing in on Avengers: Infinity War.
What I mind is making it all about Earth, and Earth's heroes.
Anyone here remember the Abnett and Lanning Guardians of the Galaxy, where they went to Earth all of once?
Or Annihilation: Conquest, which never went anywhere near it? Or War of Kings, which never went anywhere near it? Or The Thanos Imperative, which only briefly touched upon it?
It just makes Marvel's cosmic side look so utterly small and boring when their only new ideas for cosmic stuff almost always revolve around Earth in some way.

Well, the mention of dead Inhumans in space makes me worried they're going to kill off the Universal Inhumans.
Who despite being Jonathan Hickman creations were actually an interesting concept that deserves more attention.

Whatever happened to the Universal Inhumans? I've been going back and reading Hickman's Avengers run before Infinity War comes out and they sort of disappear after Infinity kicks off.

They just sort of disappeared.
(Royals later said they ran off when Thanos came a-callin'.)

To be fair the entire city of Attilan ran off when Thanos showed up, they evacuated through Eldrac

And Eldrac just kinda randomly sent all of the Universal Inhumans off world

Eldrac must have realized the Universal Inhumans *needed* to be away from Earth so the Inhumans looked more like feared and hated humans instead of cosmic space royalty.

On the plus side, both Ms. Marvel and Moon Girl and Devil Dino are still going, so at least they will be spared the slaughter.

Did they really come back to the original numbering just to immediatelly relaunch after the milestone issues? Man, that's just cynical.

Yes. That's exactly what they were doing. In some cases they didn't even bother reshuffling the creative teams much. You can't out cynical Marvel when interpreting its marketing.
