What was with all the de-ageing in the Silver Age? Was this someone in the writer's room fetish or something? It is either that or they were on some real weird stuff. And "Papa, spank"? That just really amps up the creepy.
Remember this was the time of the Comics Code Authority. They weren't allowed to be actually too violent towards characters, they couldn't threaten to kill Lois anymore, so they had to come up with other things to do to her.
And I presume that there were a lot of guys with a lot of weird kinks who were like "Yes, this is the moment I've been waiting for."
And of course this inevitably led to Crhis Claremont.
Well I think the next step from Chris Claremont was that Milk Wars series that just came out.
I mean.... "Psycho sexual power of inflation." I mean, no disrespect meant, but the writers of that story probably have a Deviantart page they do not want anyone to know about.
Presumably each individual instrument is being played at a normal speed--Superman is just flickering between each instrument and keeping them all moving properly. So he zips over here and presses that piano key 1 millimeter farther down, zips over to the drum set and lowers the stick 1 millimeter toward the snare, zips over to the trumpet and blows a tiny bit more air into it, zips over to the bass and presses each string back down at the right spot before its vibration can pull it away from the fingerboard...then does it all again a microsecond later.
It wouldn't feel anything like playing music to him, but it would sound the same-ish to normal folks. (Allowing for comic book physics and lack of air resistance and so forth.)
What makes even less sense: Every scene where a character operates at superspeed while simultaneously conversing with a non-speedster. How do you continuously enunciate a single normal-speed word, and simultaneously run a thousand paces or throw a thousand punches? What does that even look like?

Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
