It feels like a decent percentage of the sales of this comic happened because if you're not into comics and/or in a hurry, you might mistake it for that "Wolverine" comic book your kid keeps asking you to buy for them.

In that sense, it's not unlike movies made by The Asylum.

I feel like this is more of an attempt to create a goofy cartoony Supernatrual serial killer in the vein of Freddy Kreuger (Hell, this comic follows a lot of the beats from Nightmare on Elm Street 2, where Freddy possesses some random guy to get back into the world of the living).

Also, I think this was around the time Maximum carnage came out, so super powered mass murderers were what was perceived to be popular.
