This feels less like Riverdale to me and more like regular Archie.

This one (originally published as Issue 6 last fall) is still pretty dark in spots. I mean, a regular-continuity Archie comic (even the Waid reboot) wouldn't have blood-smeared, bullet-riddled corpses.

In fact, the title was, for a while, fairly dark and serious like the show with which it shares a universe (see for example the scans I posted from the next issue). Over the last few installments, though, it has in fact moved into lower-stakes comedy like "regular" Archie, with only the character designs and slightly stronger/more suggestive language than the all-ages titles to remind us it's set within the show's continuity.

Okay, maybe not too much like regular Archie (maybe more in line with Archie Horror or Archie’s Weird Mysteries, but a lot less (for lack of a better term) grounded than Riverdale . The Devil taking burgers as payment in place of souls seems like a very Archie-esque thing to me. Plus, if I recall correctly, he once got involved with Betty and Veronica.
