"...no -- I don't think he's moved on. He merely ran off with a buff, handsome younger man, and they've been together, just the two of them, for five years."
This is still terrible, but at least things are getting slashy now.
Ah, comic artists: erect nipples poking through skin tight reinforced fabric: because the stripper costumes painted over essentially nude bodies is too subtle.
Comics (well, bad/boring ones) are white cis/het male power fantasies. The men have the bodies, the power, the comic fans want, where the women have the bodies men desire.
That's why comic book men are always hypermuscular: bodies built to fight/overpower. It's also why comic book women (with rare exceptions) are always hyperfeminine: bodies built to please men.
Personally, I find a well drawn Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel (not the Cho swimsuit version), PG, etc... to be so awesome. They look like they can kick ass, instead of just wear lingerie.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
