God, those character designs on the final page hurt just to look at.

No, the final page. Particularly Disproportionate Catface Kid and Band-aid Arms McHammerpants.

I think that might be the point. I think the implication is that they have super powers, but they are still restricted by real world physics (So the one guy has a lions head, but its the size a lion's head would be, not scaled down to fit on a human body, and the guy with the band aids on his arms probably has super strength but his skin can't contain his muscles).

So they need this lady to fix their super powers.

It baffles me that writers can still get things like that wrong. It's not esoteric information, especially nowadays.
