I'm confused. Didn't Black Bolt intentionally try to kill Scott? Even if it was actually a mental projection, but still? Also I think I missed something. When did Jean find out that it was actually the mist that killed Scott?

On a general note, man are they going all in on Jean being just the greatest and most important. I'm also sighing so hard on how they are pushing Jean/Scott as the truest of loves.

they might have been "True Love" but who is to say you only get one? who is to say that True Love is GOOD for the couple... Jean and Scott became very toxic... Emma and Scott, they were good for each other.

Honestly though, I would love a Jean/Emma friendship develop....

It's kinda interesting- Scott and Jean, hooked up in healthy way, became bad for each other. Emma and Scott, hooked up in unhealthy way. became good for each other.

Yeah they are definitely are glossing over the fact that Black Bolt and Medusa definitely had the intent to kill Cyclops for destroying one of the Terrigen Clouds.
Of course Jean telepathically caught up on everything that's happened since she died and those thoughts and memories are subjective and influenced by the revelation that Scott had died earlier and it was all Emma's actions.

Jean and Scott were married up until her death, they had problems, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't mourn his death.
Of course I could be biased because I thought Jean telling Old Man Logan that "she was never his" was the best page of the week

Besides, for good or ill, I always felt the "problems" in their marriage was more on Scott's end (he was feeling neglected and alienated) while Jean might have been distant but her affection wasn't really changing.

So I could see her having a lot more feelings for Scott than vice-versa.

I got the impression her affection WAS changing, partly in repsonse to Scott being distant and partly because she was going Phoenix-y again with her amped up powers making interacting with people more difficult.

That being said, she managed to miss that Scott and Jean were having a psychic affair.

Not really. As Emma depicted the scene telepathically, Cyclops was preparing to fire on Black Bolt and Medusa. It was self-defense.

Black Bolt can withstand the full force of his reality shatter T-Bomb at point blank range. He could have tanked a shot from Cyclops without even flinching

And there was no reason for him to use his scream to try to obliterate Cyclops' body. He could have just knocked him out with a flying punch or an energy attack.

It was a show of force to warn the people of the world not to fuck with the Inhumans or mess with the sacred cloud

Maybe Black Bolt can survive--maybe? have we seen how Cyclops' optic blasts would interact with his power sets?--but could Medusa survive?

Perhaps more to the point, the comic shows that Black Bolt fired only when Cyclops was about to fire at him point blank. His response came at the last possible moment before a potentially deadly assault.

Black Bolt can trade blows with a Hulk and fly in the vacuum of deep space, but he'd serous be threatened by Cyclop's optic blast? I get that there are varying degrees of intensity but still

And Black Bolt wasn't even looking at Cyclops and whatever impending threat he may have posed, he was looking at Medusa for permission and she said "Yes" before Cyclops even finished his little speech.

Pretending that Cyclops wasn't at least trying to threaten Black Bolt and Medusa with a lethal attack does not actually match with what's depicted on the comic.

Medusa and Black Bolt were in telepathic contact; that's one of their powers. Medusa saw what looks to her, in all honesty, like Cyclops getting ready to attack. Blame Emma Frost if you must, but the Inhumans' royal couple cannot be blamed for seeing a threat and responding accordingly. They can, instead, be blamed for other things.

Medusa gave Black Bolt permission to execute Cyclops before he aimed at them. He was just catching red rain in his hands in a poor metaphor for the blood on his hands when Medusa said "Yes" (Yes definitely wasn't in connection to anything Cyclops was saying)

They both basically shot at the same time, Black Bolt just had an itchy trigger finger and decided to use his voice to obliterate Scott on the spot rather than any of his other slightly less lethal powers.

Yeah, the "cosmic entity was holding me back!" line was especially cringy. But not as creepy as her telepathic "surveillance" in the minds of some people "for their own good".

As for the Inhumans, this kind of whitewashing has been a constant theme in the recent years, unfortunately.

In the next year or so I want to see a comic that reveals Cyclops has been brought back to life months ago, and decided not to tell anyone. After everything he did they treated him like a villain. Logan at this point is a mass murderer but no one says anything, PhoniexJean kills a planet and the team takes her back no problem. Scott got a raw deal.

This stupid white washing of the event and blatant rewriting of history has me bitter.

I remember that fancomic about Jean quietly coming back from the dead and just moving far away because she's not getting involved in that crap again. After the last few years, I would adore Scott doing that.
