I thought Injustice was supposed to be all serious and grimdark. Now we've got Booster Gold mourning overweight Blue Beetle being played with sincerity and Lobo beating up Atrocitus with a giant energy penis.

I am confused and wish to know more.

It also has Booster Gold mourning his hu- boyf- best bud Blue Beetle played with sincerity, and Batman sitting in a cab with Detective Chimp (not at the same time, granted).

It's a baffling rollercoaster.

As it was explained to me, the reason Lobo made it into the Green Lantern corps is because The Red Lanterns got taken over by Starro the Conqueror.

So this is literally their Godzilla threshold* (well that and the fact they also reinstated Sinestro).

*The Godzilla threshold being a TV tropes term which means that a situation is so fucked beyond belief that you may as well just toss Godzilla at it, because there's no way he can make it any worse.
