io9 are reporting on IDW's next Star Trek genre mashup crossover
After Doctor Who, The Legion of Superheroes, Planet of the Apes and the Green Lantern Corp, who could it be with?

Yes, it's not just Star Trek vs Transformers, but it's STAR TREK THE ANIMATED SERIES vs Transformers!!

"The series—which will run for four issues—is inspired by the aesthetic and continuities from the cartoon iterations of both Trek and Transformers: the 1973 cult classic Star Trek: The Animated Series, and the original 1984 Transformers show."
Windblade is a little newer than that, but I can live with that incongruity (especially if it means more female Transformers appearing, as well as doubling the number of female bridge officers on the Enterprise to a grand total of two.
"The series will begin in the Star Trek universe, when the U.S.S. Enterprise answers a distress call on the edge of Klingon Space, only to find a dilithium mine under attack from 20th century-era jets and helicopters. When a certain red truck shows up to lend a hand, however, Kirk and the crew discover that there’s more than meets the eye to their new vehicular friends and foes."
More details at the link!
This could be fun! :)

Date: 2018-06-20 04:52 pm (UTC)See, I really, really don't like the amount of reverence the 80s TF cartoon gets.
Buuuuut... John Barber has shown via Revolutionaries that he can write glorious nonsense.
So, tentatively excited.
(I mean, if it was a Beast Wars / Trek crossover, that'd be something entirely different. 'Cuz 'em Maximals and Predacons were in the 23rd century.
... still, always Beast Wars: Uprising for that.)
And poor Chekhov gets left out.
But on the plus side, Chekhov won't get abducted by either Ravage or Laserbeak.
