Okay, that's badass and all, sure...but how much money were those thugs going to take versus how much money that store-owner will have to pay to fix all the damage and destroyed product?

I mean, you could argue that the man's life was in mortal danger and the thugs could have murdered him during their extortion, but more than likely, they were only going to make off with, what, a couple of hundred bucks if that, given it's the middle of nowhere? Meanwhile, that owner will have to clean that shit up, pay possibly thousands of dollars in damages, and has a bunch of bodies that he'll have to explain to somebody ( not to mention hope he doesn't draw further heat, given that these dudes seem to be on the General's payroll, at least from the initial dialogue).

Now, we're only seeing the first few pages, so this could all turn out to be a huge deconstruction of the Lone Wandering Hero trope and this one scene might be a big foreshadowing of the story's outcome: Hero murders a whole bunch of people, but leaves nothing but destruction in his wake while doing it, and does nothing to help clean up the mess afterward.

Uh, I'm pretty sure the girl isn't dead. You poked her eye out and dropped a wooden shelf that looks like it just crumpled in on itself on her, that's not going to do it. It's just as well, the world needs more gun-toting punk girls, not less. But still.
