This run is reinforcing my prejudice against writers who come from TV or novels. With notable exceptions of course, but there's often a certain... sloppiness to them, like missing the status of relationships.

Remember when Jean called Rachel “her daughter,” literally a month ago? Remember when she talked about “her daughter” in Fatal Attractions? Remember how when Jean got in a dream scenario where every wish of hers came true it was where she and Scott and Rachel and Nathan got to live as a normal family? And talked about her “two beautiful children?”

It's hard to sum up my feelings to the way this relationship, and its handling, and the way this break-up has been approached, but I think if anything could do the job it would be...

Plus, does Kurt really want to get involved with a Summers/Grey? If they got married, old Scott would probably roll over in his grave to find out his alternate reality daughter's mother in law is Mystique.

I really want to make a joke about how it's the Summers family tree so she could already be there and it wouldn't be that surprising but it seems kind of tasteless given Kurt and Rachel were just dating. (though they'd only be distantly related and from different universes)

I think, at some point, everyone's in the MU's mother-in-law has been Mystique assuming their identity for her own nefarious plans, sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes for ages.

Is Kurt's soul still mortgaged in return for his resurrection? (It bothered me that he was the very last X-Man I'd expect to make a bargain like that.)

Yea, agreed. They aren't a horrible 'why?' relationship, I won't mind in the future them mentioning they used to date, but it's not a grade-A, love of their lives relationship.
