I don't wanna be That Guy but this is literally everything I hate about the DC Shared Universe in one image.

I mean, the art's plenty gorgeous, especially for a late-period Byrne, but the subject matter just makes my gut roil.

IIRC correctly, this was a commission, and the guy paying for it specifically asked for Batman swinging in to save the day.

Of course whether or not that's a sad indictment of today's fandom is another thing entirely..
