Congratulations to Jeph Loeb for almost singlehandedly dismantling the Ultimate Universe. Why Marvel allowed him to do half the stuff he did I have no clue.
This really is a bizarre and nonsensical pile of stuff, even by Jeph Loeb standards.
Zarda is still there, in the plot point Loeb started and only Loeb seemed to care about, and even he doesn't seem to care that much, given what happens at the end of this series. There's still the inexplicable focus on Valkyrie. Ka-Zar and Shanna are members of the Ultimates apparently, because... why? In a group supposed to be super-heroes, what do they bring to the team? And why are they considered super-celebrities? There's the Defenders, who have gone from a bunch of pathetic nerdo losers to superpowered folks because Loki, who for no adequately explained reason now dresses like his regular self. And Tony Stark and Carol Danvers are in a badly written "relationship" for no adequately explained reason.
Oh, and the plot turns into a version of the old Lady Liberators storyline, because of course it does.
