Somehow, the Earth got pulled into the Phantom Zone and crazy stuff is happening all over (though nobody is losing their powers yet, but wouldn't be surprised if it starts happening). Martian Manhunter suggested Superman potentially rule humanity, Supes got a new fortress in the Bermuda Triangle, and this issue had a flashback involving Rogul Zhar helping the Thanagarians fight the Tamaranians. Also, the villain got sent into the Phantom Zone and met Nuclear Man - before killing him.

I just read a tweet by Bendis in which he implies that the weirdness with the Flash is for a reason and that he can’t say what’s happened with him until Doomsday Clock ends... which begs the question: Is Bendis’ Superman and Action Comics taking place in the future? Like, further into the future than Doomsday Clock? Because Lois definitely appeared in Doomsday Clock, and she’s gone now (for the time being). And I found it weird that Hal Jordan is regularly working on Earth when in his own series he’s still definitely in space, and will be for the foreseeable future with the Morrison/Sharp series.

Some people are even suggesting that the Flash we see in the scans is actually Bart Allen, or something to do with Wally and Sanctuary.

Of course, Bendis then joked about how the whole Flash thing might have been an error, but... who knows.

When you have an event comic that won't be complete until near two years after it started, timeline issues are going to be difficult.
