Were Betsy's powers supressed at this point? It's odd for a telepath to ask someone how she can trust them, and to rely on bullets to fight a physically unkillable foe.

Yes, she's de-powered at this point. In fact the person she asks about trusting is the one offering to restore them.

looks like scott's were as well. that's Genosha right? the place that was a mutant concentration camp?

At the time, it was a deliberate analogue to Apartheid Era South Africa, with the human population, commoditising mutants by developing the "mutate" process that made the docile and obedient and modifiying their powers to whatever was deemed useful, rather than what they naturally possessed.

They used a bunch of mutants to contain and cpature escaped mutants/mutants, and one of them, Pipeline, could both teleport people through phone lines, and remove their powers in the process.

Were parts 5 and 6 not posted? I've been following these and there seems to be a jump from part 4 to this?
