After an almost six month hiatus, Miles is back (and just in time for his new movie).

Some good things:

1.Aging Miles up a little. He looks late high school or early college here.

2.More of Mile's mother. Hope his scary grandmother comes back.

3.A villain who can't be one shotted by the venom blast. I like the idea of the venom blast for Miles but change it so it isn't the thing that always defeats the villain. Make it painful for Miles to use or have it decrease in potency.

Miles pretty rapidly got aged up to 16 or so.

Like all teen characters in marvel he's exactly as old or young as he needs to be. (For example See Jubilee who has somehow managed to age to 18 at least three times only to end up younger again)

IIRC around the time they were teasing him ending up with Spidergwen they claimed he was eighteen like her.

So glad to see someone new finally writing Miles Morales, and Ahmed's a great choice. Hopefully this means that he'll grow a personality beyond vaguely defined "good kid".

One thing I like about Saladin Ahmed is that he writes villains with complexity. First Carl Creel, now the Rhino. It's nice when writers remember that supervillains aren't always about evil plans, robbing banks, and getting revenge on the heroes who last thwarted them.

I'm really happy Miles has a NEW writer, and even more that it's Saladin Ahmed (Exiles got stealth cancelled, sigh). Not so hot on the art, it looks kinda like X-Men Red, but that's ok. Excited to see where this goes.

Mile's is like 7 foot tall... king. Otherwise, this story feels like it's uniquely his. So that's nice.
