All joking aside, I do really admire Jim Lee's artwork when it comes to Batman. Admittedly, this version of him seems a bit more slimmed down and sleek, but I dig it.

It's not a bad cover. On a normal comic, it would be perfectly fine. But this is issue one thousand. They should have hired some god-level artist to make something truly iconic.

I'm sure there'll be close to a thousand different variants, one for every taste.

Yeah I agree, it's nothing special.

I'm not really sure anything would've lived up to 1000 though, maybe they'd have been better to do something really simple, like just the bat symbol. Or something to do with the origin story, idk.

Or maybe go the other way and fill it with characters.

Yeah, hard to live up to 1,000, but I like it. We've got Dick's impishness, Alfred's caring, the Batcave, the Rogues' Gallery...not too shabby.

Jim Lee's Batman has never really been to my taste, but even allowing for that, this seems incredibly uninspired.
