Didn't Squirrel Girl literally have Kraven refuse to become a good guy?

Also I'm always really confused by the argument that apparently the only way bad guys can ultimately be interesting is to become good guys. I mean when was Kraven even a big bad the last time? Considering what Spencer has been doing on the title and what Kraven's character is, how is it bad for him to bring another character from the past and give him a bit of a shine.

He wasn't good, but he became a lot more fun and less grim. Considering Nick Spencer also wrote a decent Kraven in Avengers Standoff!, I'm willing to give this a go.

For Kraven at least it’s true. He’s a one-note villain most of the time. He had one great storyline that ended with him blowing his head off. He should have never been resurrected. No storyline since then justified undoing ‘Last Hunt’.

I agree. I would also add the same can be said of Norman Osborn. Nothing has happened with that character since that has made him any more interesting.

I just want to take a moment to appreciate just how stupid the idea of Kraven beating the Puma is. I mean Rhino, Scorpion, and Lizard are pushing credibility but Puma has a pretty impressive win record against Spider-Man.

Honestly, this was kind of inevitable. Squirrel Girl has always existed on the cusp of continuity anyways. I'm not really going to be angry about this anymore than I'd be angry that Harley having adventures in Coney Island and Harley in the Suicide Squad are pretty much two separate characters.

Spencer also wrote Kraven's brilliant trap for a Cosmic Cube child.

Good to know he's both able to respect a character's portrayal when he doesn't have an opportunity to change it and willing to change it when he has the chance to.
