I think this might be one the better and smarter Batman analogues I've read in these kinds of stories. Like here, Bruce would never stop in putting the world right with a machine like that there.

ok, issue 5, time for my second question, how did he overcome the whole "don't do violence" aura once he was away from the machine?

did eye guy develop an inoculation against the telepathic field, or something, and I missed it?

I think either
(a)The original villain was literally called Oculus, I doubt even someone of such superior intellect as him could resist the obvious joke.

(b)Through sheer willpower, like how he did the previous times even through the migraines and bleeding. Even then, that's not like the machine gets rid of violence completely (otherwise suicide wouldn't still be a thing in this brave new world), that just subtly influences you on a subconscious level.
