"To me, this project is a follow up to Mister Miracle—a realization of that original idea. Mister Miracle was a look at one small character, this C-list level character, and dissecting that person and looking at his impact on the entire DCU. We’re taking that concept and following it up by opening that to the entire DCU and looking at every single character the same way we looked at Scott Free." - Tom King

Since when was Mr. Miracle C-List? B-List, maybe, but he's always been very important in the New Gods mythos.

But, for all the respect that being Jack Kirby's DC creations give them, the New Gods are basically B-list... a B-lister in a B-list might well be viewed as a C-Lister?

The "B-list, maybe" was actually referring to the New Gods as a whole. If we went with the important ones being A-List, then Scott would be one as well.

mp, the New Gods don't get to be A-list. Frankly I feel like the DCU would be better of without them

Darkseid is.

Yeah, I'd say C-list looks pretty allright. A-list would be Batman, Superman and WW, B list people like Black Canary & Green Arrow, Hawkman, etc.

As I think I said when the Harley page was posted just after it came out... good luck marketing her as your "conflicted bad-girl/good girl" with multiple hero outright murdered under her belt.

Assuming that's really her.

Yep. If Sanctuary is able to generate duplicates of heroes, as seen in Booster's session, then it's possible that the killer used that somehow. Harley and Booster each think the other's a killer because they saw a Sanctuary duplicate perform the killings.

Assuming that the panels in that page show an immediate and continuous sequence.

I'm not convinced that the hammer swing and Harley holding the hammer are immediately consecutive moments.

Fair point.

I don't know why, but I'm imagining Tom King over a boiling pot, making the soup that is this crossover. He tests the soup with his finger, and realizes it's missing something.

"Not enough dead Titans. Needs a few more for spice."

Also, not to be too anal about canon, but how is that Titans East one shot even canon anymore?

It really shouldn't be. The New52 had Tim's team be shown as the first ever Teen Titans, then the more recent Titans title had it revealed Abra Cadabra had pulled a memory wipe to make everyone forget about Wally West, and in the process removing everyone's memories of Dick/Donna/Garth/Roy/Wally's team.

How the likes of Hotspot (Joto/Slagr as was) and Lagoon Boy feature in anything is just... bizarre.

The short answer of course is that no one at DC knows or fucking cares at this point. Convergence and Rebirth were supposed to fix the continuity hash made by Flashpoint and New 52, but now it's like anything goes unless it doesn't, until it does.

Teen Titans? Team Titans? Titans? The H'San Natall era? The 52 era? Titans West? East? Terror? Future? Fuck it. It's all back. Unless it's not. So we can kill them off.

This series is bullshit for bringing back C-list characters, especially so many associated with the Titans, just to kill them... and DC continuity is bullshit just because no one has any clue what's canon and what's not and they keep changing their minds. I wouldn't be so angry if they just had someone with a clue to ride herd over things and make it clear how much of pre-New 52 actually counts at this point.

Right now, DC continuity is spackle over duct tape over cardboard over plastic wrap over a hole in the floor leading to a pit filled with rice pudding and angry sharks.

DC continuity at this moment seems to literally be “whatever any given writer says for this moment even if it contradicts something else.”

It’s a true mess. Nu52 knocked the board over and once they realized how bad that had gotten, Rebirth was a patch job (well intentioned but a patch).

They REALLY just need to set in stone “this is everything that definitely happened”

Being fair, their continuity has been a complete shitshow since the original Crisis, really; it feels to me they were in a much better spot to just have characters where they were before blitzing the Multiverse; because of what later writers wanted they've since had stuff taped and bolted on to the idea COIE initially laid down to the point 'continuity is a fucking mess' and 'don't worry about it' is what I assume to be DC's actual intent, at times.

The thing I keep coming back to with this train wreck is that a story of Sanctuary working as designed would be far more interesting.

Same, I'd be far more interested in either a series of one shots with deeper insights of what it's like to be a superhero, and what it does to a person. Or maybe a story of a character going through the program and meeting others in it...

The whole murder mystery crap of this story is probably the least interesting part of the whole thing.

Yeah. And it's not like they'd have been without action sequences, if they properly flashbacked.

It just seems so slash and burn. "Hey, kids! Here's a minor character you like! Now they're dead!"
