I really love the panel when Superman catches Livewire and has hold of Jaime, and that last panel. Sometimes writers forget how much Clark enjoys his powers. :)
They also sometimes forget that he's the antithesis of Batman, not just in power but in attitude - kind, friendly, open. Always willing to trust someone who's earnest, putting people at ease despite the massive power discrepancy.
I love how open and upfront Jaime is with all his problems with Superman. No "I've got to do this by myself", no "I can't tell him about this for his own protection", just "I'm a kid who's caught up in something way beyond me and can you give me some advice?"
That's very true. But it's still all too common for heroes to stumble onto something that they feel they can't tell anyone else about, usually for very contrived reasons.
it's annoying how many writers seem to think readers would dislike a character being a fatherfigure, when most of us here at the least tend to love that trope.
It is amazing (and kinda sad) how often Superman expies feel more like the real thing than the real thing. (In this case, I was thinking All Might from My Hero Academia, who comes across like this Superman.)
Once again I am reminded how this series was Lighting in a Bottle. Conflicts come out of logical interactions, characters feel RIGHT. That whole sequence of Jaime explaining what's happened and his concerns and Superman's reaction are charming and kind. Superman immediately recognizes that Jaime is his kind of people. And the 'let's see how fast we can fly while we've got some free time' is just charming.

Superman should feel like the dad every hero deserves. :)
