This is all part of the mess of Civil War II, Thanos beat Jen into a coma, and when she finally came out of it, her trauma took the form of the gray, over muscled, rage filled form. Even when the series ended with Jen back in control and her traditional green form (though much more muscled) she was showing her intelligence. But yeah that got ignored in the Avengers relaunch and she's been made into the gamma bimbo.
