seriously though... I am surprisingly okay with this.

I really, REALLY don't like this. I mean, I am really happy Kon is back. But Kon with a wife and kid? Like... nope. It feels as if they want him to be too old to be "Superboy". (Also, nope, Kon doesn't kneel. so.. ugh)

Okay, so there's the reason Conner isn't just kicking ass and taking names. Now it remains to be seen how quickly these idiots manage to push past his attempts to be reasonable.

I knew it wouldn't be long before something spectacularly stupid was done to these characters. Well good job, writer...killed the enthusiasm for some of my favorite characters in comics being back.

why? just because he has a wife and kid? that makes him less interesting?

the wife looks pretty badass, and a part of Gemworld?

My problem with it has more to do with the fact that we're getting this dunked on completely out of nowhere. Shipping is serious business after all, and it'd be hard enough to accept Conner in a serious relationship with a character we've never seen before, let alone married and had a kid with them.

The wife and kid are just the top of the dumb pile.

Nothing Bendis did with Kon makes any sense and I have zero faith in his ability to change that later based on experience with his writing. And like lordultimus said, this random wife and kid came out of nowhere. It also ages a character that's supposed to be a teenager and we're likely getting a hefty dose of artificial character development (ie: it all happens off screen in some time skip as opposed to on panel).

Its wishful thinking a lot but it would have been nice if Bendis used a new take on Kon to change how painfully straight this YJ team is.

I know, right? I get serious "Lian Harper & the Titans" vibes from this, which I would love for. I can even picture Tim already making some overcomplicated security system to keep the baby safe. Plus, the idea of the Kents meeting Conner's wife and baby would be really cool.

hell, Bendis is writing both this series and the superman books, so there is no way in hell he doesn't already have plans for that to happen.
