I lol'd hard at the page where this Major steps on Cable's hand with his foot, and it's partially covered by an explosion bubble! It should be the illustration to the dictionary article for "kill two birds with one stone" :D

Of COURSE Major X is a time-traveling version of Cable's son from an alternate future named the X-istence.

Of COURSE there's a time-traveling knock-off Deadpool named -Dreadpool-.

Of COURSE this takes place during the last few issues of New Mutants, when Liefeld was shiny and new and Cable was gritty and mysterious and Deadpool was new and amazing. We've finally looped back around to the beginning.

This is what happens when you let Rob Liefeld go full-Liefeld and peak X-Men at the same time. This is both brilliant and absurd at the same time.
