Oh goody the return of Hawkeye's psycho daughter.

Ashley Barton aka "Spider-Bitch" (yes she called herself that). In the original "Old Man Logan," Clint goes to rescue her, thinking she's a hero only to find she's rotten and just wants to kill a bad guy to take over his territory.

Not anymore, she's just Spider-Girl now. She has been portrayed as more less stable in Spider-Verse and Spider-Geddon.

And Clint went to rescue her because she's his daughter, not because of her alignment. Plus, he was kinda of a deadbeat dad and he thought saving her would make up for it.

Why do we have to keep coming back to this miserable universe? Can't we just let it get eaten by Interdimensional Galactus or something and be done with it?

It's that thing with concepts Mark Millar's involved with where they've got high-level appeal, but a lot of the details are frustratingly dumb, so people come back to it later in adaptations/re-visitations and focus on the appealing parts while editing the dumb parts.

Because it keeps selling, obviously. Old Man Hawkeye did well.

I wonder if Ashley seems nicer relative to how she used to be because of her team ups with the other Spiders.

I'm not sure she's *much* nicer- she just seems to have fallen afoul of wasteland politics- her comment about having a better seat, then cutting to Taskmaster who's running the show suggests that she's at the very least attended these events as a spectator, if not run them herself.

That's why i said relative to how she was before. She was also not all that bad when she showed up in Spider-verse and Spider-geddon.

This Fin Fang Foom is no threat. He has no pants, so how is he supposed to stuff you in them?

As 'Old Man' series go (since I guess this is now a thing), this is the best of them. That's obviously damning with faint praise, but it's probably the fact that his retains the charm of the GotG and seems to avoid leaning into the awful, even while they roam this dystopian future.

I mean, a large chunk of the 'old man' continuity doesn't really hold together particularly well thematically, but is just an extremely successful otherworld story that seems to have legs.
