This was cute but "Knightmares" really just seems like a way to pad out a story that is already way too padded.

Hard agree, and with the Thomas Wayne stuff being pushed back in favor of another short arc it's really looking like this wasn't terribly well planned and King is playing for time.

For a minute there it looked like the message was going to be Bruce is afraid he actually has more romantic chemistry with Clark.

Also kind of impressed that Lois and Selina are able to stand, much less talk, after all the weird alien booze they're apparently taking in.
Either they've got some impressive livers on them, or that's some weak stuff they're drinking.
(Unless that's all part of the whatever-this-is, and in reality they both spent several hours just lying on the floor going "urrrrgh...")

Well, seeing the payoff for that whole thing in The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, here's hoping this leads to something just as good (true, Endless Eight was just a single chapter in the source material and it's not like there were other shorts they couldn't have adapted for the season, but still).
