" Here's the deal - Tombstone's your street crime guy. I'm your Vulture. They're still working out whether or not you get a Goblin. "
" .. what about a Kraven? "
" The daughter one still hasn't gotten back to them. "

I would have gone with Cardinal if using that color scheme.

It must be tough coming up with intimidating bird names.

1 "Raven?"

2 "Taken."

1 "Eagle?"

2 "American Eagle. El Aguila. No good."

1 "Hawk?"

2 "Taken."

1 "Robi..."

2 :pointed look:

1 "Okay, lets get broader: Shrike?"

2 "Taken. Killer Shrike."

1 "Raptor?"

2 "There's three."

1 "Buzzard?"

2 "A: Derivative of Vulture. B: You are going to name a cute teenaged girl 'Buzzard'?"

1 "Starling?"

2 "What is threatening about a starling?"

1 :checks wikipedia: :sighs: "Nothing."

2 "Well, screw it. We got a deadline. 'Starling' it is!"

Maaaany years ago, when I was writing original superhero fiction to post to a long-defunct online forum, I created an armored Iron Man-like hero named... Turtledove. :)

There are -always- more birds to choose from.
(Just because Vulture, Hawk, Dove, Penguin, Condor, Canary, Hawk (again), Condor (again), Swan, Sparrow, Tanager, Oriole, Cardinal, Shrike, Falcon, and so many more are taken...)
I'm waiting for the debut of the Puffin. Or the Bobolink. Or the Stork.

I'd like to see the Great Tit and Blue-footed Booby appear in Marvel or DC.

Fun fact: There really was a mercenary who went by the name Cardinal. He appeared in New Warriors, and ultimately took the name Harrier when he did a stint with the Thunderbolts. He was part of a team called Air Force, whose members included Tanager, Sparrow, Oriole, and Killer Shrike. (Really!)

And until I looked them up again, I was sure Starling had been part of that group as well. Heh!
