So... just to be clear, this is supposed to be strictly a Halloween thing, right? If this happened every night I doubt there'd be a single kid left alive in the world after a few years.
Go to bed or monster will get you seems too much a scare-tatic that parents used on rowdy kids. Plus kids being just jerks trying to scare a kid doesn't seem right, especially with a missing person poster. To make this scary is like on par saying Chain Mail curses being real...
Or at least try to work in a better twist than this ending.
I remember back in my old grade school days, a Halloween issue of the Weekly Reader had some REALLY scary story. Like this one about a babysitter who watches over theses kids in this old house that they "pretend" keep monsters away, like tell scary stories or wobbling knobs. Than one night, a stranger breaks into the house and chases them, and behind a locked door, they heard the burglar screaming in pain, and seemly dissapear, but then the sitter saw a small puddle of blood slowly disappearing, as though it was being lapped up by an invisible tongue..
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
