The full details were to be revealed at today's SDCC’s panel, but in true geek style, and in a move worthy of Mr Ramsey himself, a fan cracked the code well in advance,

Whilst I like Besty, I'd have preferred Faiza Hussain to remain as Captain Britain to be honest

I am so excited for just about all of these.
X-Men looks to be a rather family affair.. Scott, Jean, Rachel, Corsair, Alex, Nate, and... is that Vulcan? And... Logan. Of course.

New Mutants: YES THEY'RE ALL ALIVE AGAIN THANK YOU HICKMAN. I wonder which missing member they're talking about. Cannonball? Amara? Warlock? If they're headed to space, it could be either Sam (with his family in Shi'ar territory) or Warlock (unless he merged with Doug, as per the cyber-arm.)

Marauders: An interesting concept. It looks fun, and I like the line-up.

Excalibur: Again, interesting concept, and a line-up that seems promising. Apocalypse, wtf though?

X-Force: The X-Force team as black ops, maybe more like Checkmate than Team Murder? Sign me up. I see Logan is pulling multiple team duties again. And is that Black Tom Cassidy? Huh.

Fallen Angels: The only one I'm not all that jazzed for. Honestly, this looks like it should have been X-Force, from the line-up.

But in general, -dang- this sounds like a fun relaunch of concepts, creators, and teams. I'm wondering what they have planned for Wave 2... especially since there're a few hot creators like accounted for, like Leah Williams or Seanan McGuire. And a few iconic concepts not like accounted for, like X-Factor, Generation X, New X-Men (tell me that's a title they wouldn't want to reuse, even ironically..)

And not a fucking sign of Matthew fucking Rosenberg anywhere.

Yeah, I did wonder if it was Sam or Warlock as the lost member of the team.

And I am up for them having some space hi-jinks with the StarJammers (Doug in seventh heaven, speaking to them in their own languages)

And if Excalibur is the multi-verse hopping title, I'm also guessing that that's an alt-Apocalypse

Fallen Angels interests me least too, and whilst i like the idea behind X-Force and some of the cast, I've yet to see a take on Quentin Quire I particularly enjoyed.

It seems pretty weird to be abusing Rosenburg like this community is wont to when it's becoming likely he was setting up for payoff in the reboot - you don't just get put on an X-Book and decide who you want to kill, editorial tell you who you can and can't. Havok is back, Magik, Chamber, Wolfsbane... you don't kill integral characters like that in a filler year during development of a long planned reboot without a plan.

(Not that killing characters is inherently bad, it happens all the time in UK comics and it fit the themes of the story and resonated with current events and how shitty they are if you're under oppression just fine)

I'm surprised to be pleasantely surprised.

The New Mutants slaughtered by Rosenberg are back! Magik is back in black! And somebody will do something with Mondo!
Definitely getting that.
But I'm worried about Warlock. I don't want him to just be some sort of living armor or whatever for Cypher.

Zero interest toward the other teams. Especially X-Force. Jean, Logan, Piotr, Quire... Yuck!

I still can't believe that Miss Ex Queen of Morlocks is in a team called Marauders. That's disgusting.

I'm still trying to process that Marauders is going to be a thing. A sea-faring X-Team? Kitty actually BEING Captain Kitty Pryde!

Honestly, when Excalibur sounds wild, but ISN'T the weirdest title in the line up, you're probably doing something right!

My interest dipped quite a bit at that. The guy can draw a pretty picture, but he's so weak as a storyteller. Oh well. Still looking forward to it.

What's with DC and Marvel's obsession with re-using old names, even for stuff that has nothing to do with the original name-bearer? There can't possibly be enough Marauders fans out there that using that title's going to give you a sales bump.

Honestly, Mauraders, Excalibur, and Fallen Angels are the three I'm most into. I do like the character designs and team formations. Just surprised at the lack so far of solo titles, though I'm sure the second wave will remedy that.

Though, why focus so much on bad guys like sabretooth, mystique, and magneto if they're not going to be in the ongoings? just seemed like something that piqued my attention.

And is anyone else for Jean's new costume?

My takeaways:
1) So we have a pirate-themed X-team, and Nightcrawler is not a member? Odd. In fact, I find the lack of Nightcrawler in any of these titles disturbing. Hopefully he'll show up in Wave 2.
2) Colossus and Domino on the same team again? That'll keep some shippers happy, I suppose. Me, I'd prefer not to see Domino become the girl Piotr rebounds to again. I got that vibe during Piotr's original stint with X-Force after X vs A. Let them work together as teammates and friends first, then see if it works out between them. Also, I kind of hoped that Piotr would keep the beard from Age of X-Man.
3) Still MIA, hopefully showing up in Wave 2: The aforementioned Nightcrawler, Cannonball, Warlock (either could be the missing member alluded to in the solicit), Dazzler, Angel, Anole, Banshee (hey, they're bring back the dead New Mutants, Banshee doesn't have an excuse), Madrox (ditto), Deadpool (C'mon guys, that fourth wall ain't gonna break itself!), Honey Badger, Armor, Layla Miller, Polaris, Amara. Hopefully we'll see some or all of them down the line.

Kurt's overall absence is unexpected, perhaps even baffling, especially in the sea-faring pirate team.

Gotta admit, I was terrified for a moment there that New Mutants was going to say "Written by Rosenberg".
But it's not.
Tis all good.

Kinda digging how Scott's new costume is just his Bendis costume with the colour changed a little.
And how his "hand-picked X-Men team" is literally just family members and exes.
(And I am including Wolverine in that category. Even if he isn't, he might as well be.)

I wanna know how Kitty can be a pirate now, when she is a highly skilled ninja. you can be one or the other, but not both. this is basic science, people!

Kitty likes pirate stories (check out the classic UXM #153, "Kitty's Fairy Tale"). Besides, while she has all that ninja training from Ogun during the Kitty Pryde/Wolverine mini, I think Logan also instilled in her the whole bushido sense of honor. She may be a ninja but she'd rather be a samurai.

If X-Men, X-Force, and Fallen Angels aren't one big meta-unit they're doing something wrong. :p

Feels like Nightcrawler would have been tailor made for the Marauders but oh well.

Also I feel like it's a small thing to get excited about but Rogue has her classic jumpsuit/jacket combo back. That's always been the best look for her imho

I might just check some of these out.

Edit: I'm similarly jazzed about Wolverine's brown suit being back but I'd already known about that.

Worth keeping in mind that the X-Men cover isn't the actual cast, according to SDCC news. Rather, the book will be about the X-verse in general so the cast is pretty much everybody.
