Sakura Taisen Chapter 16 ~Project Sakura Wars Battle System edition~

So early this morning (or evening if one lives in Japan) the second Shin Sakura Taisen/Project Sakura Wars live stream aired. Showing off the new battle system (real time action with swapable characters rather than the tactical RPG action of the past, a bit of a let down)... the new battle costumes (which lack the theatrical coattail flair of the old ones, a bit of a let down), One of the new character themes (pretty decent), and the members of one of the rival "Assault Revues" (Shanghai), which is pretty cool.

There was also a joke reply option shown in the video that kinda irked me as a trans woman.

Finally here is the new promotional video for the game which gets a December 12 release date, in Japan.

And now to pick up where we left off in the manga with the Start of Iris' chapter

So this is a big departure from the game... in the game Sakura will get upset if you agree to Iris at first (and partly cause she had already asked you to do something with her), but once Iris explains it's her birthday she will be fine with you spending the day with her. This is partly do the manga having more chances to take the camera off Oogami, but it makes this whole situation that much weirder.

So like a little girl... insists to everyone that he's her "boyfriend" (heedless, of course, of the embarassment that causes him) and that they're going on a "date," but when it comes down to it she just wants to "play with" him. Iris may fancy herself a grown-up, but she's a kid all right.

I agree it's odd that Sakura is so jealous over a little girl. I suppose that serves to further her characterization as someone who can't spit out how she feels about Oogami, but it's a bit forced maybe.
