I like the cover a lot, actually. Very clean and bright. Physically improbable, but it is a comic book after all.

The warzone panel slipped in among the wackiness really hits hard.

Yeah, it's quite the sucker punch. The touches of Jimmy being wounded and exhausted while embedded, while Clark watches, concerned....that one panel does a LOT of story-telling. Amazing, really.

I bought the first issue, but I immediately knew I'd want the trade paperback of this, so will wait for it... Knowing it's a maxi-series helps me feel less guilty about not buying the floppies.

Supes, you might not want to mention the glasses thing, just saying. But the hot dog power? that is awesome. not enough super heroes have hot dog related powers.

then again, maybe if your suit had pockets for money, you wouldn't NEED anyone else to buy you hot dogs.

OTOH, maybe buying a god a hot dog every now and again, to keep him from crushing us all and saving the earth on the regular is a small price to pay...

Poor Jimmy. He comes across as wanting to be a serious journalist but his history of being a weirdness magnet have left him resigned to play the goofball.

Also, props to Lieber for conveying all that in a bunch of wordless panels.

Its common knowledge that Superman has a weakness to magic.

They don't mean spells and stuff. He's no more or less vulnerable than the average person.

They mean he's hopeless with card tricks despite having super speed and x-ray vision.
