At the end of Deadpool vs. Carnage a group of Life Foundation symbiotes were bonded with a German Shepherd. At the beginning of this issue a young girl takes in the dog only for the symbiotes to escape from the animal and bond with her parents.

And I definitely like the unsettling vibe of the symbiotes playing family at the dinner table, even if it feels like a rip-off of horror films that have done something similar in the past (heck, Resident Evil 7 did that too).
Really, I think the main detriment is the artwork. It's certainly not bad, but I don't think it fits the tone of the comic.
