One of the things that comics featuring music, or sonic, abilities have a problem with is that, though imagination is a wonderful thing. comics are pretty much the definition of a silent media.

So DC has fixed that with a trailer, and song, to launch Meg Cabot's new graphic novel about a young Dinah Drake Lance.

Thirteen-year-old Dinah Lance knows exactly what she wants, who she is, and where she’s going. She plans on winning the battle of the bands with her two best friends, then she’ll join the junior police academy to solve crimes just like her dad. When a mysterious figure keeps getting in the way of Dinah’s goals and threatens her friends and family, she’ll learn more about herself and her mother’s secret past, and about navigating the various power chords of life. This magnetic story features expressive and energetic art by Cara McGee to match the trademark attitude and spunk of Meg Cabot’s characters and dialogue.

If the name Meg Cabot is familiar, it might be because the she is the author of "The Princess Diaries"

Singalong under the cut, and the art looks delightfu!

Meg Cabot is writing this? I have to check it out, then. She was one of my favorite authors

I really like the music they've done to promote Black canary stuff since her DCYou series, it's all been way better than it really needed to be.

DC's YA graphic novel stuff, understandably, hasn't really interested me outside of their great art teams, but I'm curious how their intended audience has reacted and what kind of buzz they might have. Since they fall pretty far outside of the usual comics news and commentary ecosystem I've heard little about them.

Are they calling her "Dinah Drake Lance"?
I haven't kept up with DC since New52, but it used to be "Dinah Laurel Lance" or (to the JSA guys) "Dinah, Jr."
