On the one hand, Taylor continues to show why he was the best and maybe only choice for this scripting job: on the other, I kind of prefer him when he doesn't have to compensate for DC still chasing the Eighties' nihilist trend. (Yes, I know the Injustice video game is popular for some reason.) But maybe he's the one who proposed this, dunno.

And I'm a little torn about Luthor's Batman line: on the one hand, it actually made me laugh out loud, but on the other, it does seem a bit jarringly out of character.

I thought that, too. Since when does Lex admit to anyone being smarter than him?

I do like the touches here like how, with the world a mess, Clark isn't bothering with a secret identity.

Although it would be fun to have a scene of Luthor taking about ten minutes to accept that Clark is Superman. "No...I mean...all that power and....right under my nose?"

Also the "oh shit" factor of the heroes realizing they forgot the possibility the shapeshifting alien who can turn invisible might have been infected too.

I did like that line from Blackest Night when Black Lantern J'onn criticized them all for forgetting how powerful he is.

I think they may have hoped that J'onn did the same self-destruction bit that Clark tries here, only to be more successful since his vulnerability is more easily accessible -- any convenient fire will do it.
