IIRC its a alien tech thing she picked up during her space adventure. As far as I know its on the up and up and is in fact clothes and not a symbiote. But *shrug*

In fairness, the "the symbiote is bad for you, like drugs!" moral got kind of muddled over the decades, as it gradually got turned into the best thing that ever happened to Eddie. Even some Spidey stories ended up portraying Venom as fundamentally good.

I'm still a little fuzzy on how much of the Secret Wars is, y'know, secret at this point. Still, I figure Kamela was the type to poke around the superhero gossip sites ("Venom Airs Spider-Man's Dirty Laundry") and she's friends with Miles (who certainly has a history with the lab-created Ultimate Venom) so I figure she knows more than most.

They've been hinting at the whole "the symbiotes aren't inherently evil" thing since the original Hybrid (IIRC the symbiotes were trying to be a calming influence on the host) and have gone so crazy with recent retcons that I couldn't tell you where the Venom symbiote falls on the D&D alignment scale.

Pretty sure both halves of Carnage are firmly chaotic evil though.

I like the suit. I think that looks pretty cool.

I don't hate it, but her original suit is imo one of the best superhero designs of the past decade, so this one can't help paling in comparison. If this doesn't prove to be temporary it'll be a real case of change for change's sake, much like when they altered Jamie McKelvie's original Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel design.

I remember being at an event where Wilson said one of the rules for Kamala is no kissing. Will see if I can find it in writing somewhere. ETA: No, I think it had to be no sex because Red Dagger. Hmm.

As a good Muslim girl, Kamala really shouldn't be canoodling with any boy. In the past, she's followed these rules pretty well.

Of course, she's also a teenager, she's under a lot of stress, and she's always been portrayed as someone who edges up against temptation. So while kissing Bruno is against the rules, it's not entirely out of character for her to finally throw caution to the wind after years of build-up during a particularly tense time in her life.

Now, Bruno not being Muslim himself may end up being a huge stumbling block in their relationship as a long-term thing. But I suspect (and trust) this writer to tackle those pitfalls and complications in the story.

The religious population in my country is divided between Christians, Muslims and Hindus people date across religious lines constantly here so I don't see the problem.

There is in comic precedent of Kamala's family not liking dating across religious* (less but also racial**) lines. They're nice, but not without prejudices.

* Kamala's brother already warned Bruno off because of that.
** Said brother's girlfriend was forgiven for being black because she's very devote Muslim.

I would not be surprised if Kamalas brother feels more strongly about the religious issue than her parents.
