Date: 2020-01-11 12:47 am (UTC)The whole "oh you mean my ancestors who were well known for being stubborn difficult etc. did a bad? I can't cope." Is silly- especially if its long past. Family history doesn't usually bury the bad deeds as well as fiction seems to think. I mean it's often not something you are proud of - but I doubt its completely a soul shattering out of hte blue thing.
My fam has stories of ancestors who had to keep moving cause they had violent tempers and fights "went bad". We are also 'pretty sure' there's an unmarked grave of a claim jumper on our family land. I mean we had an awkward "WELP" when we heard that particular tale but generally we managed to live a normal life. We ain't even rich or old money.
